To kick start your career as a Registered Nurse in the United Kingdom, the applicant’s qualification, training, capabilities and experience are assessed and verified by NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council). We offer support to our candidates with the NMC Registration, which they can help them practice as a nurse or midwife safely and effectively in the UK.The NMC registration consists of three parts.


Registered nurses can practice under four domains/fields:

Overseas trained general nurse can apply to be on the nurses or midwives parts of the register of NMC, if they fulfil the following requirements:

 

Educational requirements

Applicants should have successfully completed at least 10 years of basic school education followed by post-secondary education in nursing or midwifery has a full-time training program of at least 3 years.

English language requirements

Applicant should be able to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers, which is an essential skill in healthcare. When you apply to register with the NMC, your English language communication is evaluated. Communication is defined as speaking, reading, listening, and writing. Applicants must demonstrate competence in these four skills. To prove your sufficiency in English, you can take one of two examinations

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
  • OET (Occupational English Test)

There are some big differences between both testing systems, so choosing an exam will depend on the individual person. Our team of experts and consultants will help you find out if you should take the IELTS or OET. If you choose to to take the IELTS, there are multiple versions of the exams, so you must make sure you are taking the correct version for an entry into the UK as a healthcare professional.

Once you’ve passed the IELTS or the OET test with the required overall scores, our recruitment agency in the UK will set up an interview with you via Zoom/Skype or a similar video platform. This is your opportunity to reinforce us that you are a perfect fit for a nursing role in the UK and can ask any questions about the process.
